FOURTH WEEK OF BUSY TEACHING PRACTICE (4th December 2017 to 8th December 2017)


CONSCIENTISATION ON CHILD RIGHTS
                  Three weeks passed. It wore away like flashes of lightning. December has arrived, almost all the portions for the Christmas exams were completed. The 4th week of hope and expectations. This would be the last week of teaching practice before the Christmas exams. There is a lot to do during this week. We have to do a conscientization program based on the child rights, we have to do revisions, we have to complete some works related to project. The week started with the hope that we would be able to complete all these things as soon as possible

4th December 2017

    As the portions for the Christmas exams were completed, I have decided to put a small exam to my students then to know how well my teaching methods were effective. The rest of the classes I have decided to complete the chapter as soon as possible as activities are yet to be done. It was really a tight schedule. We are forced to take extra classes so that the portions shall be completed. Question papers were prepared to students containing A, B and C versions so that we could avoid copying. During the first period I interacted with the students of 9G, taught them the last leaf. One more class would be enough to complete the story. At the second period, I rushed to 9 D. The chapter was completed. It was exam time for 9 C during sixth period. The reaction towards examinations were positive and hence it became a happy task.      The School has also gained second prize in Sub District Youth Festival which is held at Pavithreshvaram. The headmaster congratulated the winners. The principal's message during the day was thought provoking. 

5th December 2017

             The classes went very well the day. The real essence of teaching was really acquired yes I was able to go and teach many classes. Students of these days are no more hesitant ask or clarify their doubts. I really enjoy clarifying doubts and it gives me an insight into several unknown things. Usually on Tuesdays,  I have the 5th period. I have already prepared a PowerPoint presentation related to new poem, Newton's Law. A poetry is a statics lies in the power of The Reader who interpret it using his wings of imagination and creativity. It is often said that the author is dead after writing a piece of art. The poem could be interpreted by The Reader according to his whims and fancies. So I have decided to work on a poem. I had the usual classes as well as substitutions this day. The new unit was introduced to students. 

6th December 2017   

        Teaching becomes effective when it appeals to all senses. ICT integrated learning helps a student to think creatively, analyse critically and retain long what they have experienced. Our teacher has come observe my class this day. Came to my class during the sixth period. He observed the whole class. I was bit tensed when I saw him entering the class. As he was an encouraging soul, I took classes with confidence. I was so happy that he sat and observe the class for the whole day. I got my lesson plans and reflective journal signed. 
7th December 2017    
         As the portions were over, I have decided to discuss the question papers after previous year to make student understand the question paper pattern on the way of setting questions. Apart from all that we have to prepare ourselves for the conscientization which has to be done as soon as possible. During the free hours we have decided to prepare charts, present PowerPoints so as to give an awareness to students about child rights and their awareness against child abuse.
8 December 2017     
         It was a day of conscientization. We took awareness classes to students about child rights. Different charts were prepared and a PowerPoint to describe a child rights were shown to students. Videos containing the message of child rights were shown. It was an awesome experience.

   It was yet another busy week. We bid farewell to the school as well as the teachers. We wished students all the best for their exams.

THE THIRD WEEK OF BEAUTIFUL PRACTICE TEACHING (NOVEMBER 27,2017- NOVEMBER 30, 2017)

Another week passed by, it was real fun to be a part of a school. We are no longer teacher trainees in the school, the teachers as well as staffs made us believe that we are also a part of this big institution. We were assigned all the duties which  a teacher is doing in the school. Sharing the experience as teachers brings in me immense joy and happiness...

27th November 2017
       My chapter, The Last Leaf was over by 24th November and activities related to the chapter has to be completed. So I decided to start off with discussing the textual questions and eventually going to activities. Chart describing pictures, activity card, information sheets were prepared to teach the students prepositions today. I went into the class with a bit confidence that I could be able to manage the class and cater the interest of the students. After Youth Festival practices are going on, it is really a great task to sit at the library and do some works. There will always be a bunch of students practicing for different events. My teacher consent was severely suffering from vocal cord problems, she was forced to take voice rest for two weeks under doctor's supervision. She inquired whether I could take the classes for 9G and 9F. I was bit depressed, I should take four periods each day. I was with the hope that everything would go well. The last leaf was taught to both the classes. In my class I discussed the textual questions as well as introduced prepositions to the students. Hey really enjoyed taking classes to the students. The class went as expected and I was able to catch the interest of the students.

28 November 2017


       We have been sailing into a nowhere land where everything appears vague and obscure as well as busy. Almost all the works are complete but some are yet waiting for its fulfillment. It seems easy to take classes but when it comes to Reality a teacher should focus on each students, help him to learn in his own pace, which becomes difficult I have decided to teach students affixes today. Teaching aids related to the same was prepared. The class was very active and hence was able to maintain the energy throughout. Activities describing the grammatical structure when used judiciously catered to the interest of students. My students made their greeting cards today in the class. They are really talented. 
       On this day I taught students affixes through concept attainment model. It is often a fact that teachers find it difficult to teach grammar as there are no much interesting elements. But concept attainment model enable students as well as teachers to comprehend the topic. I thought about different strategy the follow and the class based on models of teaching came into my mind. Students were able to easily understand the topic.
      After the class we went for noon feeding. It was a varied experience.

29 November 2017

      These days were really busy as a Sub District youth festival is going on as always the way was filled with substitution and brought in tonz of experience in a teaching practice days. Many activities are yet to be completed in 9C. Students were introduced modal auxiliaries which was displayed with the help of an information sheet. Activities related were done in the class itself. A card displaying certain images were shown. Students were asked to guess what the pictures were.
In the next period students were taught conjunctions. The day made us really dizzy.

30th November 2017


         The day went as expected. The activities yet to be completed were discussed in the class. We have got ample substitutions the day. We did not waste anytime. We engaged many classes. I taught them would rather this day.

The second week too has passed. This was an interesting week. The week which made us laugh, which taught us to love, which brought smiles, which made us interact with the students................. The second week went in no time. I'm going to miss you beautiful.

20 November 2017
   
  An inspirational tale of friendship,  passion and love, the last leaf. On 28 November I have decided to teach children a new tale of love and friendship. It is a short story by O Henry, who wrote inspirational stories and romanticized the lives of common people. I have prepared some character cards of prominent figures in the story. I was a bit confident that I would be able to get the interest of the students using the teaching aid. I went for Peer review, the class was interesting as well as thought provoking. The teacher was teaching The Nightingale and the Rose.

22nd November 2017

       As I started a new chapter the last day, I thought I will teach the rest of the passages so that the continuity of the chapter will not be lost. Word inference cards, jumbled sentences to improve classroom practices were used as the teaching aid. A self prepared glossary was given to the children for reference. It was a fun filled and enjoyable class.

23rd November 2017
         I had in mind to act out story The Last Leaf. I introduced my idea to the students. They were really happy when they heard that are going to act the story. Apart from teaching, I had to chat with friends as well as students. I was happy with the day's class. Students were promoted to refer to the dictionary. 

.24th November 2017
        The story has come to an end. Last leaf has reached its climax. The Twist of the story was taught. Crossword puzzles containing questions based on the chapter was provided to each group. I learned to deal with different questions and doubts from the side of students. They really enjoy doing activities which made me think that they should be more resourceful in dealing with the secondary school students.

         I was really happy with the week. I learnt many things apart from teaching. I learnt to adjust myself and to the changing situations. I was able to complete the lessons on time. Teaching aids where use wherever necessary with active corporation of students, child management was also satisfactory. I taught the lessons much better than the previous week.

KENORO 2017

            It could be considered the best of days in our college.. We enjoyed a lot with our dear dearest friends and teachers. Its always fun to be a part of Mount Tabor Training College, the mesmerizing song of the winds, the beautiful words of teachers, fun time with the dear friends Makes life beautiful in our college. We have been a set of people who came to the Tabor Hills with Great Expectations. We never knew how the classes would go. We were completely strange people who knew nothing about each other but now we are a bunch that shares, cares and hears each of our heartbeat. 
        We have been sent the respective schools for teaching practice. On Tuesday we were called back by the institution to take part in the choir competition held under the guidance of the teachers of our sister institutions. The day was fun filled. We really enjoyed the day. There were a number of groups who came for the choir competition. 
          One of our classmates Jithin P Wilson has used his brain carved a beautiful violin which became the centre of attraction of the program.

              Teaching brings in the best experience where both the students and teachers put in efforts to improve classes. Teacher brings into practice novel ideas into classroom so as to make the classes attractive and interesting.  The effectiveness of a class depends on the variety of aids a teacher uses. Teaching practice is an inculcation of all the values and attitudes into practice by the teacher. It is this immersion into the real world of school that prepares the student in making the transition from trainee to professional. 
            As part of the second phase of teaching practice ,we were assigned visit the school and collect it is regarding the topic to be taught. I was assigned take classes for the 9th standard students under the guidance of Ms. Bindhu T John. She gave necessary guidelines and portions to be taught full stop. Lesson plans were prepared accordingly and various teaching aids were prepared. Teaching practice was about to start on 13th of November 2017. We were all excited to take up the role of teachers once again it was a pleasure teaching a bunch of vibrant students.

November 13 2017
                   The second phase of teaching practice started on 13 Nov 2017. We set of teacher trainees, chose St. Mary's Higher Secondary School for teaching practice.On 13th November we marched into the school with a bunch of teaching aids and needed equipment. It was a day filled with expectation and excitement. I was given a new class and hence was a bit nervous. The start was dramatic. It was announced that the mid term exams were on the go and hence there is a chance for us to miss the classes. Many of us were distressed as the exams took place during the afternoons and most of us had classes in the afternoon. We looked eagerly in the substitution register, but went vein. We did not get classes that day. Many co curricular activities apart from teaching gained our interest. We were instructed to serve the students as part of noon feeding programme. Afternoon session was to an extent period of stress and strain. We were assigned to count and rearrange the unordered answer sheet of the unit test. Is was a tiresome job and we found it difficult to locate certain paper. The school was dispersed by 4 p.m. and we went for the line duty. The day was on the whole interesting as well as exciting.

14 November 2017
            I had the fifth hour today. As it was exams, I was little sad I will not get a class. But by God's grace I got the 3rd hour. The children's day celebration by the teachers and the students in the school great passion and excitement. We were able to see the excitement of the lower primary students. Many events were organised accordingly. Headmaster delivered the Children's Day message to the students. It was really happy as I could see the smiling faces of many students who wholeheartedly celebrate the Children's Day.
Time spend in the class was very thoughtful. We interacted with each other and had beautiful time spend together. The students were first excited to see the teacher. They were hesitant to give responses last time went by they started interacting with me.


15 November 2017
      I was able to complete the poem. Where is teaching aids where used and that enhanced the beauty of the poem. I got examination duty. I saw a bunch of innocent students writing examination with varied expressions and gestures. The passivity of the students were transformed m and they really became active.

16 November 2017
     As I could complete the poem the last day today I had in mind to discuss that extra questions and attempt appreciation of the poem. Already prepare activity cards which contains a set of questions which the students should find answer and write it in the notebook. It was a group activity. From the group activity I realised that the class was really active and engaging. I went for a peer review. The day was really interesting. 

THE FIRST WEEK, A GIST
    Apart from classes there were many activities that caters our interest which included noon feeding program me, answer sheet counting, line duty etc. 
The second day was attractive as a got a class through a substitution. Students were wonder struck to see a new teacher. we interacted well and get to know each other. 
The children's Day was celebrated. The whole week could be considered a week of substitutions. We went to many classes along with the consent classes. The week went like a flash. I was able to complete a poem by Helen Steiner Rice. Its was a beautiful week.

Our Children's day celebrations



                Children’s Day is celebrated in India every year with great enthusiasm on 14 of November. It is celebrated by the teachers and students in the schools and colleges with great passion and excitement. It is celebrated with lots of events and activities performed by the kids. School buildings get decorated with multi color paints, colorful balloons and other decorative materials. Children’s day is celebrated on 14th of November, the birth anniversary of Pt. Nehru, because he loved children so much. Children participate in the activities like singing songs in Hindi and English, poem recitation, speech, dance, etc to remember Chacha Nehru’s great works for the country.

COMMUNITY LIVING CAMPS

Men are born equal in the society, but what makes him different is the values and attitudes he posses. It is necessary for every individual to be a part of the society. Therefore it is an essential component to people to learn and poses values to maintain a cordial relationship with the people of the society and to uphold values of harmonious social living.  In order to train the prospective teachers on the values of community living, the B.Ed curriculum has developed a concept of Community Living Camp with an objective of living together peacefully and work effectively to maintain a good relationship among the student, interact well in the society etc.
Community Living camps help the students in understanding the core of rural life, their problems and needs, and help them in preparing a plan for social work practice and community development”. The concept community brings together many elements of solidarity, trust, commitment, mutuality and fellowship. The community always grows on the sense of belongingness among the members. If teachers are able to perceive community in its true sense, the classrooms will transform to integrated social units and the student community will grow towards a peaceful world.




OBJECTIVES OF COMMUNITY LIVING CAMPS:

To make the student teachers understand the rural social system and importance of community living
To promote social accommodation and broaden the mental abilities of the student-teachers, i.e., to help them to develop capacities and attitudes suitable for group living.
To help the students develop their sense of care, compassion and social responsibility.
To assist the students in learning through the experience in group living so as to develop their social responsibility.
To acquire skills in planning, organizing,  administration and implementing camp programmes with productive use of time, communication skills, working with team spirit, handling relationships and conflicts, seeking co-operation and coordination whenever required.
To develop critical thinking about various social and educational issues
To inquire in to the cultural, social, scientific, educational and environmental aspects of a community
To develop personal, social, moral and cultural values like benevolence, compassion, commitment, character, co – operative living, fellow feeling,
To promote dignity of labour.
To develop life skills.

Awareness Level: the concept of community living, the threats and challenges for community living, the varying nature and inclusion of community
Practical level:  living together as a community, Identifying the needs of local community, assuming roles for responsible community living, participating in group initiatives, generating innovative ideas and action,  acquiring skills of organizing a camp, managing a group and managing self.
Attitudinal level:  Coping with differences, tolerance of ambiguity, patience in difficulties, adjusting with varying situations, acceptance of self and identity of others.

THEME OF THE CAMP

Our community is rich with varied traditions and culture. There is always a distinction in the way of living of each individual, as no two men are born equal. We live together with a motto of peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding. A healthy lifestyle is prerequisite for cooperative efforts. This depends on nature and its responses in the environment.  Saving the life for sustainable life is significant and ultimately, we aim at achieving peace in and around us. Thus the theme is ORUMA, Learning to peacefully strive together.



PROGRAMMES, AN OVERVIEW


THE PREPORATORY SESSION

The planning session of the camp was conducted on 2nd May 2017. All the teachers and students gathered and had an unofficial discussion about the activities of the camp. In order for students to completely involve themselves in the activities of the camp, they were divided into six different groups. Each group selected their names and leaders as well. The theme, procedures and the upcoming activities were discussed in the session. The names of the group were as follows:

Sahayathrikar


I was a member of Samashti. A group discussion was initiated by the members and the teacher in charge exhorted the importance of attending the camp. The parents were intimated about the programme schedule so that the students could get the consent of parents to attend the camp. A six day programme was announced where the first part will be held at the college itself and the second at Kuttikanam.  Students were given necessary guidelines regarding the codes and conducts.


ORUMA
DAY 1
(7-06-2017)

The day of expectation, the first day of the most awaited community living camp. We a bunch of 94 students were eagerly waiting for the day to come. As already announced the first session was scheduled to be held at the college itself.  I am scribbling the events of the first day of community living camp.
The introductory session was inaugurated in the college auditorium by 1:30pm by the prominent orator as well as a dutiful IAS Officer, Dr. B. Ashok. Very  Rev. C.O.Joseph Remban, the manager of Mount Tabor Dayara presided the session and has delivered the presidential address. College Principal Dr. Sunny Skaria made the introductory remarks. One among the shining stars of our college Ms. Neethu Sivan kindled the heart of everyone assembled through her mesmerizing sound.
After the inaugural session, Dr. B. Ashok gave us a beautiful class along with an interactive session. Dr. Sam V Daniel, the community living programme coordinator delivered his heartfelt thanks to all those who assembled.The meeting was dispersed and the students went to their groups and made plans for the programmes as discussed earlier.

DAY 2
(8-06- 2017)

Session 2
SOCIAL COMMITMENT OF TEACHERS

The Programme as announced started on time. The morning session was lead by Dr. Sunil, retired Professor and Social activist on the topic “The Social Commitment of Teachers”. She spoke about the Importance of upholding values as a teacher. A teacher should be a guide and a philosopher to the students while to the society, she should be a social worker and a source of inspiration. She should work hard to mould the personality of her students and she should strive hard to make transformation in the society. In order to bring about a change in society, she should be a role model to the students as well as the society.
In that occasion, Dn. Bidheesh Mathew of physical science welcomed the chief guest as well as the gathering. Principal, Dr. Sunny Skaria, presided the function. As a token of love, Dr. Sam V Daniel, CLP Coordinator presented a memento to the teacher.
The class was interactive and the chief guest elicited responses from the students.


Session 3
PREMARITAL COUNSELLING

The second session was handled by Dr. Rosamma Philip, Assistant Professor, Mount Tabor Training College. The class was a sort of premarital counseling which was beautified by the experiences of her life. It was a best class to those who were about to be married as well as to the married ones. The class focused on the codes and conducts, ways of behavior in the family as well as in the society. Students really enjoyed the class and the essence was captured well. The class kindled the minds of the gathering

DAY 3
(09-06-2017)
The third day of the community Living Programme comprised of various activities in the college by the students. The students were asked to prepare certain activities regarding the theme “ORUMA”. Hence each group prepared their own versions of how to make students inculcate the values of unity. Each group prepared skits and related activities. The group made sure that all the students participated in the programmes. Each group comprised of 16 students and in permitted time, they prepared well for the culturals. The standard of the programme hence proved that time is not a great factor for the talented youths. It was a great experience to be a part of that successful programme.

The first phase of the camp ends here. The second phase was announced to be held at 25, 26,27th of September at Kuttikanam.

DAY 4
(25-09-2017)
OFF TO KUTTIKANAM
The journey to the beautiful place started from the college by 6:00 am. Two busses were arranged considering the needs of the students. Both busses started from Anchal, one taking the Punalur- Pathanapuram route while the other taking Ayoor- Kottarakkara route, the busses met at Mylapra, Pathanamthitta. The journey was fun filled and students were active throughout. Teachers, non teaching staffs as well as the manager accompanied the students.
The bus reached Tejus, retreat centre, Kuttikanam by 10:30. Rooms were allotted to the crowd, after keeping the luggage apart; we went for breakfast which in turn was followed by the inaugural session of of the second phase. Various roles were allocated to the students who themselves were inaugurating the session. Each group was given opportunities to exhibit their talents.
       


With the helping hand of Dr. Rosamma Philip, the programme became a great success. Each and every student enjoyed the programme. They maintained the standard of an official inauguration, but what made the meeting different was its structure which was interlinked between facts and humour. Each one of the students has done justice to their roles.
After the inaugural session at Thejus, we went for lunch. Jesa George from physical science has given necessary guidelines on the next programme. Students were taken to Wagamon, but the heavy rain did not permit us to step down and we were forced to go back to the place where we were staying. Students were dispersed assuring that they will meet at the general hall at 7:00pm.
BRAINSTORMING SESSION
We reached the general hall by 7:00 pm. Under the guidance of Dr. Rosamma Philip certain interesting activities were initiated with an aim inculcating certain values. The session was fun filled and group oriented. Students were made to sit together in groups and certain group based tasks were allotted.
Task 1
FOLLOW THE RULES
A paper containing 10 questions was distributed to each group, the group leader was asked to fill the answers carefully after reading all the instructions. All the group members were made to participate in the activity. Instructions were given to students to complete the task in 3 minutes. The session tried to focus on the fact that following rules will help to achieve a particular goal. The last instruction given in the paper was not to fill any thing in the paper. Three groups won the task.
Task 2
MATCH THE FOLLOWING
Each group was given a paper containing 15 questions and corresponding answers in the other column. Students were asked to match the sentences with correct synonym. The task was to develop in students the idea of values a person should posses in his daily life. Group 6 succeeded the task by matching all the answers correct. They were appreciated by the crowd.
Task 3
DESCRIBING A PICTURE
The next task was related to accepting others. Learning to accept and appreciate others is a bit difficult task for people, who find themselves the best in the society. A picture of a boy was distributed to the groups. Everyone was asked to find the deformities in the picture and one among the members was made to read their opinion.
Task 4
APPRECIATING OTHERS
The teacher asked the students to write the names of students who comes to our mind when they here certain qualities. Teacher then explained the fact that, for a person to survive in the society a bit of appreciation from anybody is desirable.

DAY 5
26-09-2017
THE BEST OF DAYS
The morning walk with bunch of students and teachers made the day. After breakfast, by 8:00am, we set out for a field visit. We went straight to Parunthumpara. After spending some time there we started our destination to periyar tiger reserve. It was a great experience. We enjoyed the beauty of these places through a small walk to the important places. Parunthmpara appeared a miracle as it is structured like an eagle, the wonder of nature. It was a beautiful site decorated by dew.
   
After visiting the two places by 1:00pm we went for lunch at a vegetarian restaurant at kumili, We were accompanied by Dr Sunny Skaria, who joined with us for the trip. After the wonderful Sadya, we set out to cumbum- Theni, the land of grapeyards. It was the best of days. Thanking our teachers for selecting the spot.

 DAY 6
27-09-2017
The last day at Kuttikanam, those enjoyable days are going to be over. All of us were really sad. As always after the breakfast we went to Wagamon as we were not able to see the spot the last day. We had memorable experiences that day. First we went to the pine forest which can be considered the man’s discovery. The forest was manmade and the pines were arranged in symmetry. Mist covered forest appeared most beautiful with our arrival. We people came to know and understand each other. We had numerous incidents that made us laugh and enjoy. Cameras, selfies, gossips etc made the silent place noisy.
The next destination was to wagamon hills which had nothing, but a group of hills inviting us. We walked around the hills and found a lake which had boating. We noticed rope ways which took people from one end of the lake to other. It was an on the whole an amazing site. Those brave hearts from our batch hence enjoyed the beauty of wings to fly. The hills were covered with grass which appeared like huge green hats the hills wearing. We spend their time till 12:30pm. As we had to return back to houses we were forced to bid farewell to the place with no intension of going. Infact the nature itself mourned on our departure as it drizzled rain and brought mist to the mountains.
By 1:00pm we reached Tejus, had lunch and set out to our college. With broken hearts we bid farewell to Kuttikanam. By 8:00 we reached the college.


REFLECTION
The Community Living Programme organized by the college aimed at promoting love and understanding among students. Those beautiful days brought smile to our hearts as well as our minds were filled with many great memories.  We enjoyed a lot and it was fun filled. We shared and cared for each other and helped others. The first three days made us think a lot and the rest three days made us adjusting hearts. The theme itself was attractive, “Learning to Peacefully Strive Together”. We learned to stay together and share together.
It was the best of times. Teachers were very supportive and helpful. From the first day till the last brought us many experiences and memories. The inaugural session was attractive as it focused on students as well as their performance. Students were given due importance as the teachers believed in us. The field trips, brainstorming sessions were different and it catered the interest of students. We learned many things from the camp.
We would like to thank every teacher for guiding us all through the camp and for helping us to bring out the best in us. It was the best of days

A memorable independence day celebration

India’s Independence Day is the most important day to all the Indian citizens and has been mentioned forever in the history. It is the day when we got freedom from the British rule after many years of hard struggle by the great freedom fighters of India.
  Our school has arranged various independence day programmes under the guidance of the principal, headmaster and all other teachers. The day was really amazing. Principal Rev. Fr. Roy hosted the flag which was then followed a rally propagating the importance of independence day. All of us were assigned with certain duties

The week was the best of times (AUGUST 7- 11)





              Teaching practice involves a wide variety of events apart from teaching. It becomes the source of all our joys if we happily indulge in all the activities in the school. this week was on such week which had two days of cultural fests. As usual Monday to Wednesday we made ourselves hectic teachers. We prepared bunch of teaching aids as well as prepared to take classes. 
          The rest of the days we were busy teachers who helped the students in their cocurricular activities. School youth festivals are the cradles of the students’ artistic and cultural development. They have become the forum where young artistic talents are discovered. Today they are conducted from school and college level to district and state levels and have gained much importance in academic routine.Dance, music in various forms, painting, modeling, writing, dramatics and mimes are all presented at these competitions. These festivals give students an opportunity to express their artistic and literary talents. Youth festivals help to preserve our varied cultural heritage. Many of the old forms which are on the verge of decay are preserved and kept alive by including then in the youth festival competitions. This is a boon to the future generations. This will certainly help the cultural growth of a country. As a whole, youth festivals give the opportunity to develop the qualities of mutual respect, love, communal harmony and national integration.
We enjoyed a lot during these two days. it was really awesome.

ONE MONTH OF TEACHING PRACTICE. (JULY 24-28)

Teachers have the very important responsibility of shaping the lives of young, impressionable children. with this responsibility comes great pride and joy. therefore all teachers should strive for what can be considered a good teacher. A good teacher can be defined as someone who always pushes students to want to do their best while at the same time trying to make learning interesting as well as creative. A positive or negative influence from a teacher early on in life can have a great effect on the life of a child. Teachers, especially at the elementary level, must be very creative with their teaching styles. Not every child learns the same way, nor are they interested in the same things.

A month passed. Happy that we could easily complete one month of teaching practice. Wish we could teach them through out the academic year. Teaching has become the most happy feeling ever.

   Life becomes easy and fantastic if you start loving your life. Life is not always bed full of roses, instead it has both lovely soft petals as well as hard thorns. I am really privileged to get a bunch of kids who taught me this philosophy of life. My love for the class is beyond words.

THREE WEEKS PASSED AND WE ARE ALMOST TEACHERS( JULY 17- 21)

                   Practice teaching is of paramount importance in the vocational training of student teachers. It is this immersion into the real world of school that prepares the student in making the transition from trainee to professional. This week was almost given to teach students poetry. ICT enabled classes were prepared. Students were made to attend classes in the smart class. Its really interesting to teach poetry rather than prose.

Every body becomes happy if they could live life satisfactorily. I am now really happy and satisfied as I got a bunch of kids whom I could call mine. I'm really proud to be their teacher.

Experience as mini teachers (FIRST WEEK JULY 4- 7)

Great teachers are masters of their subject matter. They exhibit expertise in the subjects they arecteaching and spend time continuing to gain new knowledge in their field. They present material in an enthusiastic manner and instill a hunger in their students to learn more on their own.

Feeling really blessed to be a part of a school with a bunch of vibrant kids. Teachers are always a good friend, a poet and a philosopher. He or she is bound to be a part of the kingdom where children are prominent members.
We, half a dozen of teacher trainees chose St. Mary's HSS, Kizhakketheruvu for our teaching practice. We were asked to take classes for 8th and 9th standards. I was assigned to take classes for 9th standard students.
 The first day as teachers were really exciting. The excitement of being teachers...... Its something great. I spoke to children, enjoyed the day. The rest of the days were too awesome.
